Should I be charged for my stylist "undoing" a perm I never wanted in the first place? Sho

About 3 weeks ago, I went in to my stylist for a cut and a wave. I never once used the words perm or curls, because that wasn't what I wanted. Of course that is what I got. She told me to give it 2 weeks and it should loosen up to what I wanted. Although I knew there was no way this TIGHT perm would become a wave, I gave her the 2 weeks. She has since seen my hair and decided to put in a straightening solution to loosen it into a wave. Am I to assume this is complimentary for her mistake? Or am I to assume I will have to pay for this service I shouldn't even need if the job was done right? AND, if it is complimentary, am I supposed to tip her? And how much?

If she gave you something you didn't ask for, and now she's un-doing it, why on Earth should you have to pay for the service?

Now, if she does a good job of correcting the mistake, give her a tip. But ONLY if you're pleased, OK? That's the purpose of a tip: To show gratitude.

I wouldn't pay to have something undone that wasn't supposed to be done in the first place.

but to tip that is a whole different thing..........tip please

You shouldn't have to pay. But before you let her start working, make sure you TELL her how you feel. Just say what you said earlier "I am assuming this service is complimentary due to your mistake."

If you tipped her when she gave you a perm then I wouldn't tip her now. If you did NOT tip her at the last visit because you were upset, then I would tip her now.

I hope the straightening solution works!

well thats butthole...you shouldn't have to pay because she made a mistake!! but she'll probably make you anyway......just run out of the salon when she's done lol

ok first of all let's get the difference between a wave and a perm....they are THE SAME THING.

Next, to get a wave you need to keep a very good eye on the perm when it is takeing, it needs to be checked very often, your stylist should have ask you before she gave it how your hair does with perms ...some peoples hair take perms very quickly and others take perms very slowely(like me).then she would have known to watch your hair and the very moment that it begin to have "WAVE" in it she should have stopped it..rinsed it..and you should have had the results you wanted.

yes perms do relax some over a period of time but you came out with curly hair ...which she was in the wrong because she did not do the perm the correct way to begin with.

the straightener...... the straightener is also A PERM its the same kind the only thing is ...it's called a straightener instead of a perm..... how this works is you wash the hair ...then apply the perm solution and she runs a comb through it till it is not curly any more insted of putting it in perm rods, then rinses it out with water...WAlla.... you got straight hair now.... {but now it's going to be dry dry dry}

Make her put a professional conditioning treatment in at a later date...about 3-4 weeks so in case she does do it right this time it will not tamper with the wave.

first you need to talk to the manager and tell that person

you do not feel that you should have to pay for this re-do.

if there is not manager then take it up with the stylist who did your hair...... when you see her in the salon immedatly tell her before you get in her chair you might say something like" Now I am not going to have to pay for this re-do right???" this will automaticly let her know you were not satisfied with her the first time and she owes this to you. if she sayes yes

then question why and if your not satisfied with her answer ..leave the Salon and do not go back there.

Tip??? no tip on a second re-do..I NEVER TIP ANYONE untill after they have completed a service wheather it be waitress, waiter, hair stylist, nail tech, doorman ect ect.

if they did the job to my satisfaction then they get tipped.

Good luck
