Cutting my own hair?

Ok I'm going to start cutting my own hair for now on. The hair stylists I go to never get it right so I might as well do it myself. I got myself a nice pair of hair cutting shears lol. Any tips would be loved and tips on cutting bangs?

P.S. Please don't tell me to have a stylist do it because they have cut my hair many times and I'm sick of it. I've already made the descision to cut my hair myself.

cut less then shorten as needed.....you can always take more off but you cant put it back on.....also remember that if you cut when wet it will shorten as it dries so be sure that if you are cutting your bangs when wet that you only cut them to about the bridge of your nose between your eyes if you want them about eye/eyebrow length

Cut your bangs really long first. So that way, you have cutting room to make them the way you want

I now cut my own hair too. just try a few things out and figure out what you like best. Just start with a little trim, because if you start off by cutting more than a few centimeters, you will go overboard. trust me i've done it! ha good luck =]

sorry but i don't think it's a good idea, because u might mess up and if u do, you'll b mad at urself, don't u prefer to be mad at someone else instead of urself? think about it! ;)

haha i go to a hair stylist for every part of my hair except my bangs haha.

i prefer everypart of my hair settle but my side bangs kinda chopy. i just kinda cut them about to my eye.

i've tried cutting my hair and my best friend has cut my hair once before and because of that i had to cut off 7 inches of it and it was reallllly short!

so just be careful and make sure you know what your doing!

I've had my mom cut my hair before. Just get someone like a relative to help you out. Wet your hair (with a spray bottle) before cutting and then comb. After cutting, blow dry a little bit and then check to make sure you didn't miss any stray hairs.

I cut my own bangs also. Just part how much you'd like cut. Wet it. Cut the bangs longer than you'd like (when they dry they will shrink to size).
