Locks of love?

okay, so does anyone here have experienec with locks of love? are you the hair stylist who cuts it? did you donate your hair? did you recieve hair from locks of love?

i want to know, because i am thinking of doing it. also, are there any suggestions on hair styles that i can get for shorter hair?

i also have really thin hair, so will it look good cut short?

and one last question, if my hair is about 4 inches from touching my butt, how short will it be? can i keep it a little long?

thanks, to anyone who answers, i really appreciate it.

Locks of love?

well i once had hair past my butt and when i got it cut the hairdresser asked me if i wanted to donate it but if your hairdresser doesn't ask u, then u ask her. if u have thin hair then you should get a hairstyle thats layered to make it look a little thicker. the good thing about layers is that some layers can be like up to your shoulders while other layers will be a lot longer so it would be like having both long and short hair at the same time. u should also think about looking through the hair magazines at the hair salon, thats what i did. good luck with the hair.

Locks of love?

I dontated my hair! They need anywhere from 10-12 inched depending on if you have split or dead ends, and also what the hair stylist prefers. I loved that I did it, it made me feel really good that I helped someone. If your hair is that long it will probably at least go to your shoulders.

Locks of love?

Hey sweetie!

I would tell u all about it but I'd proable run out of room!

Contact me @ swedish.mistress@yahoo.com and I would be more than happy to tell u all about it!

Is it customary to give tips in hair salons here in Singapore? How much?

I'm going to have my hair cut in Singapore the first time in a high end salon. I read before that tipping in Singapore is not the norm, but I'm not sure if that's also true for hair salons (especially Passion). Should I give tip to the "leading stylist"? How about the person who shampooed/dry my hair? If yes, how much should I give? Is it based on percentage?

Thanks.

Is it customary to give tips in hair salons here in Singapore? How much?

i'm not sure about singapore, but in hong kong, the norm is to tip yout stylist 10-15%, your shampoo person $2, and the leading stylist or the owner doesn't get a tip (unless they do your hair). i hope this helps!!!

My hair is very brittle. Maybe a pixie cut? what should I do?

My hair is very dry, because it was overbleached by a stylist who made an error basically. I was using a Loreal Professional deep conditioner everyday, but it is expensive and annoying to use everyday.

I am thinking of getting a pixie haircut like Mia Farrow. Do you think I should do that to get the damage off? What should I ask for in trying to get this haircut, as well as to get it to look feminine and not manly? I don't want it to look masculine. I heard it is called gamine? Are there any instructions or thorough pictures on the internet of modern pixies? I looked at Mia Farrow's and it seems a bit outdated. I have a round face. Thanks.

My hair is very brittle. Maybe a pixie cut? what should I do?

You know, look for a happy medium. Get the brittle ends cut off and have you hair styled in a shoulder length that has long layers. Also have your hair conditioned professionally in a good beautiy salon; and let them slowly restore your hair taking out the brassiness of the blond over bleaching maybe with a henna rinse which is a natural product. You may have to have darker hair for a while, but it is worth it as your hair will be eventually restored with shine and body. If you want to do it yourself, all I can say is go to a Beauty supply store and ask the salesperson for a deep conditioner that will restore your hair that you only have to use once a week. Believe me they know and they sell to beauty salons. You can also buy henna rinses at the beauty supply store too and do it yourself.

My hair is very brittle. Maybe a pixie cut? what should I do?

you should go to a professinal and ask . But washing your hair every day is not good for your hair.

My hair is very brittle. Maybe a pixie cut? what should I do?

A good cut always revitalizes the hair.... My suggestion is to get it cut, styled, and deep conditioned by a professional stylist. Stop coloring and use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Trust me, don't skimp out and get advice for the salon. Wash Your hair every 2-3 days, shampooing too much dries out the strands and the scalp.

My hair is very brittle. Maybe a pixie cut? what should I do?

Get your hair cut stop bleaching it and there is shampoo that you can buy that strenghtens your hair but I'm sorry I can't remember the name

Scene Hair Help? PLEASE.?

I don't think you should get your hair scene unless you are a scene kid. But scene hair really isn't ALL in the cut. It's all about color really. And lots of it. Here are some pictures of some scenequeens.

You don't have to do the wild color, but at least two colors is nice.

Texturizing hair?

I got my hair cut shorter to get the damaged ends off ... the bottom 3 inches are still damaged but i refuse to go much shorter. The prob is stylists love to thin out my hair due to its thickness as well as texturize it. First I love my thick hair so I hate it when it gets thinned... but second the texturizing on damaged hair looks horrible. It looks like i have split ends and really damaged ends unless i straighten it and use shine spray.

So i guess my question is ... is it just me or do others think that texturizing hair makes hair look more damaged?

Texturizing hair?

yeah i hav pretty long hair and they cut off the dmaged ends

i went back 3 months later and they cut off more of the dmaged ends and texturized it and it looks even worse!!!

Texturizing hair?

i would tell your stylist to try not texturizing or thinning it out and see if it makes a difference. just because your hair is thick doesnt mean that u have to have it done that way. a lot of people have felt that it makes the ends look worse.

Hair salons in sacramento?

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I want to do hair and I've always wondered what goes through clients' minds when they're quietly sitting in the chair for a few hours.

I think about

"Is my hair going to look right when she turns me around to see it?"

"is she cutting too much?"

"how much is this going to cost me today?"

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I hate my hair, and its hard to do anything with it. I trust my hair dresser but every time she starts cutting it it always looks so stupid, and i start thinking "crap..she's lost her touch, my hair is gonna look horrible when she's finished" but I keep my mouth shut and she finishes cutting it and styles it for me and it always looks great. When I get over thinking that she's gonna wreck it, I start thinking Im gonna have sexy looking hair for one day, and about all the places I can go to show off my new do, because after i sleep on it, and wash it, Im not gonna take the time to make it look nice like she did, so my nice hair only lasts for one day.

But I only have time to think of those things when the conversation hits a low point, either because she's talking to someone else or concentrating on my hair. While we're talking I dont worry about my hair or what she's doing to it. I think thats a hair dressers secret. So if you wanna keep your clients mind off their hair until you're finished, keep them in interesting conversation. We always talk about what I've been up to since the last time I was in there, what my plans for the day are, my friends, family, etc.

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

Ahh........that feels good. I never have time for myself.

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I think about is she cutting it too short, or should I tell her to take off more, or will this look good or not.

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

i usually think:

"this won't turn out like i hope" and

"god i wish we had something in common because this lame tip-generating attempt at conversation is making me sick"

"breathe, breathe, have patience"

i hardly ever go because i don't like it.

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

hope for the best

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I'm usually thinking about what she's talking about, or what I want to talk about next. I don't know about you, but my hairstylist and I never have a quiet moment.

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I'm very impulsive and these thoughts are the usual:

"Oh, crap! How is this going to turn out?!" - when I said something, the stylist comprehends another thing, and I want to retract back what I say but I don't feel comfortable doing so.

"Uhh, I think that's too short..." - my ! inch is about a foot to the stylist!

Make sure that you gestulate what your client have just said.

Use your hands and point/show her how much you're cutting/trimming and if she wants a particular hairstlye (influenced by celebs), get them to bring a picture of that hairstyle or ply them with the many mags you have around!

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

i ALWAYS think that it'll look bad when it's done.. i hate it when it's done.. then i go home and start loving the haircut.. lol..

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I think "does she/he know what they are doing?" "Am I going to like it?" "I hope they dont do what they want and not what I want?" and "I hope they doing cut too much!".

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

Uh, well, I'm not really one to get my hair cut a lot. I usually get it maybe twice a year. But here's what I usually think:

Why did she just make that horrified face? Did she screw it up? Yes I think she did because now she's cutting off much more than I told her too.

--or--

Is she layering? I told her NOT to freakin layer it! I hate it layered!

--or--

That lady doesn't need a perm, she needs a freakin pedicure!

--or-- (because I live in a small town)

there's that b***h that cut me off yesterday! I should give her a piece of my mind (about which time my hair stylist whacks me with the comb and tells me to hold still)

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

Damn!!! This is going to look so HOT!!

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

Well I always found out how much it's going to be before I even get in the chair. I wonder if my hair is going to look like it does in the picture that I brought. Also to me it's very relaxing having my hair worked on. I usually just relax and let them do their work.

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I have been going to the same hair salon for about 10 years..I am very picky when it comes to my hair...I can not do my hair on my own I have naturally curly hair so when I wash it at home it curls ,so when I go to them I have high expectations..so what I am thinking as the person is doing my hair is...the sh*t better looks good when I get home and unwrap it..Ialways leave the salon with my hair wrap in pins..and when I get home I let it loose to see how it looks..so far I am very pleased with the way they do my hair

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

I talk to the stylist, sometimes I get nervous and wonder if they are competent enough to cut my hair. There are some people who had to of got their licenses from a cracker jack box!!!!

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

Am I making a mistake?...HAHA.But I have only not liked a haircut once.So I dont doubt as much anymore

Ladies, what is going through your mind when your stylist is doing your hair at the salon?

Well pretty is this a proffessional who know a lot and what if she cuts to shorts or if she keeps messing up over and over again what should i do
